Mimic Farms is a 20+ acre contour orchard located in zone 6 on sandy loam soil characterized as farmland of unique importance and prime farmland that was intentionally designed using silvopasture techniques to support livestock operations and/or raise row crops in the wide (110’) alleys between a mix of fruit and nut trees.

The agroforestry system was installed by Restoration Agriculture Development, a leading permaculture designer in the upper Midwest.  It uses a diverse planting of perennial tree crops and shrubs that are native or compatible to the local late successional basswood maple biome to promote soil health, ecological resilience, and productivity.Mimic Farms is a 20+ acre contour orchard located in zone 6 on sandy loam soil characterized as farmland of unique importance and prime farmland.   • Pasture/Orchard for Grazing: $25/acre per year
  • Tillable alleys for Annual Crops: $100/acre per year
